If time allows, I may be able to perform, at your request, a sample edit of up to 5 pages for my proofreading, copy editing, and line editing packages. Sample material from the project is randomly selected.
Proofreading
$.009 per word
I will correct PUGS, check for widows/orphans, examine headers/footers, and review front and back matter. Your manuscript should have very few errors per page and should have gone through professional editing. Edits will take place on your PDF or Word document.
Copy Editing
$.018 per word β fiction
$.019 per word β nonfiction (includes source fact-checking)
I will correct PUGS (punctuation, grammar, word usage, spelling), lightly correct formatting, check consistency with quotes and passages (Author required to provide sources for quotations). All work will be done in Track Changes of Microsoft Word.
Line Editing
$.022 per word
I will assess the manuscript for clarity, passive vs. active issues, dialogue and narrative inconsistencies, and help resolve POV (point of view) problems, run-on sentences, wordiness, and unnatural phrasing. I will use Microsoft Word’s Track Changes to make changes and suggestions.
Quick Return Proofreading
$.02 per word
This is a great choice for articles, devotionals, or novellas. Once payment is made, projects up to 5,000 words will be returned in 2 days; projects up to 40,000 words will be returned in 7 days. This package covers punctuation, usage, grammar, spelling, spacing, and word use.
Manuscript Evaluation
$.013 per word
I will read your manuscript and assess the flow, pace, character qualities, and readability. You will receive a written report about your work’s strengths and weaknesses, suggestions for improvement, and the types of editing that I recommend for your manuscript.
Beta Reading
$.0015 per word
I will provide feedback to you on your manuscript from a reader’s perspective (not an editor’s) and provide answers regarding flow, plot holes, character development, setting, and dialogue. This service includes a report and comments in Track Changes of Word.
