The more that I read suspense novels, the more I develop a keen interest in reading more. Carol J. Post is a wonderful writer who pours all of her effort into writing books with incredible settings and drama and believable characters. Fatal Recall is her most recent novel, and it didn’t disappoint me.
Tanner Brody, a police officer, was in transition from his job at one police precinct to another. He decided to use that dead time to have some fun. His kayaking adventure turned into an adventure no one is interested in. Gunshots fired over and over, followed by the sound of a scream. Tanner decided to investigate, and the result of his investigation led him to Paige.
Paige Tatem was unconscious when Tanner found her. When she awoke, she had no memory of who she was or that she was in danger. When shots were aimed their way, Paige had no choice but to go with Tanner to escape certain death.
The next several days were wrought with frustration, fear, and determination to survive. Tanner and Paige forged the situation together, learned a lot about themselves (and each other), and faced the danger head-on.
Bringing the story to an explosive start, Carol drew me in to the story of Fatal Recall quickly. She masterfully crafted the character of Paige and did very well with showing the nuances of amnesia and the unpredictability of recovery.
Tanner and Paige each had a history of a hard upbringing, causing them to each have trust issues and, for Paige, some lack of self-worth. There was a subtle message in the story about God’s love and the ability to heal emotional wounds and overcome past hurts.
Fatal Recall is a Christian suspense novel with a bit of romance thrown in. I gladly recommend this novel to all of my reader friends!

About the Author
From medical secretary to court reporter to property manager to owner of a special events decorating company, Carol’s resume reads as if she doesn’t know what she wants to be when she grows up. But one thing that has remained constant through the years is her love for writing. She currently pens fun and fast-paced inspirational romance and romantic suspense stories. Her books have been nominated for a RITA® award and an RT Reviewers’ Choice Best Book Award.
Carol lives in sunshiny Central Florida with her husband, who is her own real-life hero, and writes her stories under the shade of the huge oaks in her yard. Besides writing, she works alongside her music minister husband singing and playing the piano. She enjoys sailing, hiking, camping—almost anything outdoors. Her two grown daughters and grandkids live too far away for her liking, so she now pours all that nurturing into taking care of a fat and sassy black cat and a highly spoiled dachshund.
