Relocation
These days I’m wearing a new hat! Some of you may already know that. I made a small announcement a year ago about taking on the career of freelance editor, then my world went topsy-turvy.
At this exact time a year ago, my husband interviewed for a position a few hundred miles away from our home in Kentucky. When he was notified of his acceptance to the position, his start date was about three weeks later.
Suffice it to say, we couldn’t get moved before his starting date, so my husband secured a one-bedroom apartment that he could rent on a monthly basis and moved to our new town before the rest of us. Thankfully, it only took a total of six weeks from the time we found out he was hired to hold a yard sale, sell our house, find a new home, get the biggest U-Haul we could hire, and move. The icing on the cake was we moved a few states away between Thanksgiving and Christmas. It was insane, but we survived.
Reset
It took months to get a routine going. My website and my newfound career had to be put on hold for a while.
When I got back to working on the blog (specifically, the editorial services portions), I kept quiet for a few months, because I didn’t want to make another announcement until I had all of my ducks in a row.
Resume
I’m officially on the job again here at the blog. I’m taking fewer requests to review books now due to editing projects. If I am already a part of your book review team, I will still take part. New review projects, though, are strictly first come, first served.
Take a look at the editorial services I’ve added to the website. If you’re a writer in need of an editor, check out my services. I would love to hear from you.
I am so excited to begin a new series here on the blog devoted to writing helps for writers and novelists. My chief goal is to impart confidence. In order to accomplish that, I will post weekly tips to sharpen your knowledge as a writer and share encouraging messages to light your way.
