Want me to review your book?
Regarding Requests
Current Status: 7/28/20—book reviews are currently FULLY BOOKED.
I only take on one request, free of charge, per month due to my editorial work demands. If you are interested in a manuscript critique (which is much more detailed than a review and provides a professional assessment of your writing), click here.
I won’t review everything that comes my way. I get a good amount of requests, so unfortunately I cannot read them all. I’m selective because I want to give a good amount of time to reading your book so that I can give a fair review.
What I Don’t Read
I’m not interested in erotica or language with heavy profanity.
Genres I Frequently Review
Fiction: Christian romance, Chick-lit, suspense/mystery, YA fiction, fantasy, adventure, historical, and general fiction. I also MAY read Amish, dystopia, and apocalyptic genres if you catch me in the mood. I’m not a reader of books involving vampires, werewolves, ghosts, or the like.
Non-fiction: curriculum, biographies, Bible history, parenting topics, cooking, gardening
E-book, Paper, or ARC?
I will accept any. I read on a Kindle if you prefer to send me an E-book copy. If you send me a e-copy draft, please let me know if it is NOT the final release. Otherwise, I may unknowingly provide feedback about content that differs from the final copy.
If you send me an Advanced Reader’s Copy (ARC), let me know if you are opposed to my giving it away when I’m finished. As you already know, ARCs cannot go to libraries, so I believe in distributing them to others who might like to read them (once the publishing date has passed). I do not sell ARCs.
What You Can and What You SHOULDN’T Expect From My Review
If the book is part of a book tour, I will follow the guidelines for what day I am scheduled to complete the review. Otherwise, it may take two weeks to six weeks, depending on my work schedule.
If you would like me to host a giveaway, I can do that. My review will be posted here on my blog, shared on Facebook, Amazon.com, Goodreads, and Twitter.
You can expect honesty. I do not promise 5–star ratings. I provide my honest opinions in a kind and professional manner. Additionally, sometimes I choose not to provide a number rating; one example of this is if I feel that a book wasn’t ready for publishing—in such a case, I may instead share the book on my website written in the form of a book description. Please see my Ratings Explained (patterned after Goodreads’ ratings, by the way) for a fuller idea of how I rate what I’ve read.
Don’t expect me to provide feedback on grammar. If you need editorial feedback or coaching, I offer that along with copyediting and basic proofreading with my services as an editor.
