I was given the opportunity to review The Perfect Blend. It is the third novel in the Ordinary Days in Myrtle Hill series, and I had a hard time getting caught up to who was whom. At any rate, the story revolves around Marie, a widow, and Slade, a divorced man. Both Marie and Slade had experienced love with other individuals in the past. Marie was desperate to have a child, and Slade was desperate to have a wife.
The story was fairly well written. There were some things that annoyed me a little bit about the characters. Marie was needy and naive, and Slade just wanted a woman. lol I wanted to shoved my hands into the book and ring both of their necks at times.
Slade and Marie went back and forth with their relationship several times, and they had their share of problems to work through. The author did a good job of keeping the story line on a set track without wavering from the story’s theme.
