Great summer reading!
Summer’s List by Anita Higman is a sweet heart-tugging story about a young woman whose only remaining relative, her grandmother, has devised a “bucket list” so to speak for her granddaughter as her dying wish. Summer feels honor-bound to fulfill her grandmother’s wish, so she sets off to strike off everything on that list. Along the way, Summer is reunited with her childhood friend Martin and she finds that her friend has had his share of heartache. Summer and Martin rekindle their friendship and strive together to help one another through life’s troubles.
I really enjoyed this story. The author did a good job in keeping me drawn to the story. There were some troubling elements, real-to-life problems that the characters faced, and a bit of dysfunction to wade through. If you’re looking for a story that isn’t just your typical boy-meets-girl-falls-in-love kind of story, check this one out. It’s a book that flows well, won’t take you long to read, and will leave you feeling like you read a good book.
