Gripping, moving, page-turning
The Inn at Ocean’s Edge kept me busy! Fully invested in the story, I made it my mission to determine who the villain was, only to have my “bad guy” ruled out! If you enjoy a suspense novel that will keep you motivated and determined to see resolution, this one’s for you! Colleen Coble’s novels are fantastic as a general rule, and this one was no different.
The plot was solid and engrossing. The interweaving of several secondary and tertiary characters into the theme and layout of the story was understandable and flowed nicely. Very strong.
The main characters Claire and Luke, however, lacked a little in personality, I felt. I found it hard to truly see their true colors. They were a little too cookie cutter to me. That’s my only complaint about the story, and that certainly isn’t a deal-breaker. (It also doesn’t change the fact that I still believe that it qualifies for Five Stars from me. π ) I really liked Claire’s grandmother and Kate–I felt that Colleen did a good job pinpointing these characters’ qualities and personalities.
If you get a chance to get your hands on this novel, do so. I think you’ll be very pleased with its entertaining qualities!
