MY THOUGHTS
Novels about the world wars have always intrigued me. Hands-down, those two periods make up a couple of my favorite times in history. I never get tired of reading about them.
The Number of Love delves deeply into the Codebreakers of World War 1. Margot is a brilliant young lady who is part of deciphering intercepted war messages inside the undercover Room 40. Roseanna has taken great lengths to develop Margot’s character. Intelligent, methodically mathematical, and uninterested in the social life enjoyed by most ladies her age, Margot is a character that will certainly be appreciated by the reader.
Drake Elton is an agent whose job it is to fish out secrets of the spies. Drake comes home wounded as a result of his assignment and finds himself head-to-head with the enemy relentlessly. Desperate to keep his friends and loved ones in England safe from harm, he sacrifices much to keep the enemy at bay.
The Number of Love is very well researched. I thoroughly enjoyed the historical information that was so seamlessly incorporated into the characters’ stories. Roseanna does a wonderful job integrating everything to make this a polished novel. The characters, the setting, and the plot are all well developed, and I was thoroughly entertained.
